COVID-19 / Coronavirus Update
At the Law Office of Julie Ann Baldwin, APC, we extend our sincerest thoughts and heartfelt sympathies to everyone affected by the global pandemic known as COVID-19, or coronavirus. We also extend our deepest gratitude to those working diligently in our medical and scientific communities to not only fight this disease, but to keep us fully informed about measures we can easily implement to help flatten the curve and encourage social responsibility.
Yes, our firm is open for business! Most courthouses throughout California are currently closed, or only handling limited emergency matters, through at least early April of 2020. During the court closure period and beyond, you can rest assured that we are working hard and remain steadfastly committed to providing exceptional service to our valued clients, as well as potential new criminal defense clients who are seeking experienced, high-quality legal representation and compassionate advocacy.
Our firm recognizes the need to provide exceptional service in responsible ways that preserve the overall health and safety of our staff, clients, and communities. We highly recommend all citizens keep themselves fully informed and follow the advice and protocols outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) during this critical time. We are closely adhering to their recommendations and taking affirmative steps to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 by implementing social distancing and creating technology-enabled office spaces within our homes where we will continue to safely and effectively serve you.
During these unprecedented times, we are vividly reminded of the inherent value of personal interaction in our daily lives. Now more than ever, we understand and appreciate that personal interaction is critical to understanding and working though the complexities of the criminal justice system – no matter how minor or serious your situation may be. As such, face-to-face videoconferencing is now available to all potential new and existing clients through the Zoom application upon request. As always, we continue to be readily available via telephone at 951.973.0018, or on the worldwide web anytime via our contact form.
COVID-19 has affected, and will continue to affect courthouse operations, as well as law firms, businesses, and government agencies around the world, well into the foreseeable future. Please understand that most currently pending criminal matters will likely be delayed to some extent due to courthouse and other business closures and government agency cutbacks in business hours and staffing.
To our existing clients, please know that we are doing everything we can to stay on top of all developments regarding COVID-19 and its impact on the criminal justice system and we pledge to keep you informed. We are doing our very best to facilitate communication with District Attorney personnel regarding case negotiations and exchange of discovery. Investigative work is still ongoing. Court appearances are being automatically rescheduled, in most cases. Please continue to remain in good communication with us and thank you for being the heart of what we do. To our potential new clients, know that we genuinely look forward to connecting with you for your complimentary and entirely confidential legal consultation.
